Warzone Season 5 is officially set to launch on Thursday, August 12.
The current Warzone Season 4 Battle Pass is set to expire on Monday, August 9. Therefore, many assumed Season 5 would launch immediately after. However, Activision tends to release the biggest Warzone updates on Thursdays instead.
So after much anticipation, the developers finally confirmed that Thursday, August 12 will mark the beginning of Warzone Season 5.

The first official Warzone Season 5 trailer was revealed on August 4. During this two-minute cutscene, a new hacker character was seen uploading a dangerous signal. Once active, this signal appeared to work as some form of mind control, turning allies against one another.
There’s no telling how this may destabilize the situation in Verdansk just yet, though fans weren’t all too pleased by this “tone-deaf” reveal. Featuring a hacker in the new trailer when hacking issues run rampant in Warzone led to a whole new wave of backlash.
Warzone Season 5 map changes

Mobile Broadcast Stations are on the way in Season 5.
While Season 4 didn’t provide many noteworthy changes around Verdansk or Rebirth Island, Season 5 has Mobile Broadcast Stations on the way, along with a big surprise.
Similar to the crashed satellites in Season 4, Mobile Broadcast Stations aren’t new POIs directly. Instead, a number of areas will have these vehicles appearing over time, “differing from match to match.”
Further into the season, one unique addition appears to be on the way. “Operators should look for [REDACTED] when it arrives within Verdansk,” the patch notes teased. We’ll have to wait and see what this looks like.
Warzone Season 5 new weapons
With each and every season comes a range of new weapons. That trend is expected to continue in Season 5 with new guns on the way.
Throughout Season 4 Warzone received a new SMG, AR, LMG, melee weapon, and even a Nail Gun. After plenty of speculation, we now know which guns will be coming in Season 5: the EM2 AR, TEC-9 SMG, Marshal Pistol (a quasi-shotgun), and Cane Melee weapon.

A handful of new guns are sure to offset the meta in Warzone Season 5.
Warzone Season 5 Battle Pass
No different from every seasonal update in recent years, Warzone Season 5 will bring its own Battle Pass. With 100-tiers of new content on the horizon, players can expect new Operators, Blueprints, vehicle skins, and more — including some of the new weapons.
As always, the new Battle Pass will provide free rewards along with a premium track to boot.
Just a few days out from the Season 5 update, be sure to check back for frequent updates as the new patch rolls out.
