The IONIQ 5, Hyundai Motor’s electric compact crossover SUV, beat electric vehicles from BMW and Audi in an evaluation conducted by a German automobile magazine.
Hyundai Motor said on Sept. 12 that Germany’s Auto Zeitung recently evaluated three compact crossover electric vehicles — the IONIQ 5, the BMW iX3 and the Audi Q4 E-Tron. These models were evaluated in five categories of body, driving comfort, powertrain, driving dynamics, and eco-friendliness and cost. Auto Zeitung is one of Germany’s top three automobile media outlets. It has a significant impact on the automobile industry not only in Germany but across Europe.
The IONIQ 5 scored a total of 3,267 points, outclassing the iX3 (3,187 points) and the Q4 e-Tron (3,149 points).
The IONIQ 5 came in first in three categories — powertrain, driving dynamics, and eco-friendliness and cost. It finished second in the body and driving comfort categories, respectively. In the powertrain category, it received high scores in acceleration and maximum speed.
