Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) recently announced the completion of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Sarasota at The Landings. The location now features six fast-charging connections, which are compatible with most EVs, including Tesla vehicles with an adapter. The station is the first universal fast-charging site in the area and can charge many batteries to near full capacity in less than 30 minutes.
Designed as a pilot program to promote the use and adoption of EVs, the FPL EVolution program is installing 1,000-plus charging ports at more than 100 locations across Florida, including major roadways, large employers and popular tourism destinations. Included in this network is a series of fast-charging stations located every 50 miles along an 800-mile stretch of main corridors and highways throughout Florida.
