Supreme’s next drop could be its flashiest yet
Supreme, the streetwear brand notorious for slapping its name on everything from feature phones to a literal brick, is turning its attention to film photography. Tomorrow’s drop includes a reusable Yashica MF-1 35mm film camera, available in either black or red and subtly adorned with a Supreme logo. It’s made of plastic, which isn’t particularly flashy, but it’s also got a built-in flash, which is.
Like many of Supreme’s other branded accessories, there’s nothing particularly special about the camera this is based on. This specific model appears to have its origins as a 2019 Kickstarter, and reviews have generally been mixed. “Neither totally awful but not that great,” was one blog’s conclusion, while another more negative review called it “perhaps the objectively worst camera I’ve ever used,” adding that a disposable camera would deliver better results.
This isn’t Supreme’s first foray into film photography. Last year, it partnered with Fujifilm to release Supreme-branded instant film for its Instax cameras. This time around, however, it looks like aspiring hypebeasts will have to supply their own film for Supreme’s camera, rather than their own camera for Supreme’s film.
Still, if you’re interested in giving film photography a spin, then InputMag notes the camera should be available at around 11AM ET on March 25th from Supreme’s physical and online stores for a little over $60. If past experience is anything to go by, expect the cameras to sell out relatively quickly, only to appear on the second-hand market at much more questionable prices.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been updated to version 11.0.1 – My Nintendo News
It isn’t often that Nintendo releases smaller updates for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The majority of updates are usually the big ones that release alongside the launch of a new DLC fighter. However, once in a while, Nintendo will release an update that fixes something that had not been intended and could’ve been exploited by players, such as a glitch.
Well, that is precisely what this update, which puts Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at version 11.0.1, does. The only thing Nintendo mentions in the official patch notes is a “vulnerability when landing after using the Wii Fit Trainer’s side special Header had decreased unintentionally, so this has been adjusted”.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin Switch File Size Seemingly Revealed
Monster Hunter Rise is obviously the focus this week, but we’ve also got a little bit of news to share about that other Monster Hunter title, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
As spotted by My Nintendo News, Nintendo Australia’s official game page for this upcoming release appears to have revealed the file size, and the file size of the game is estimated to be 14.6GB. Assuming this is accurate, that’s more space than we expected it to take up.
Monster Hunter Rise, according to Nintendo’s website, is only 6.6GB in size. And the original Monster Hunter Stories on the 3DS, for the sake of comparison, required just 1.8GB of free space.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will arrive on the Switch on 9th July. Alongside its release will be a deluxe edition and three amiibo – Ena, Razewing Ratha, and Tsukino.
Will you be checking out Monster Hunter Stroies 2 when it arrives on the Switch? Tell us below.
PSA: Update Android System WebView to fix crashing apps
A large number of Android users over the past few hours have been encountering continuous Gmail and other app shutdowns, with some finding that uninstalling Android System WebView will stop the crashing.
Update 3/23: Just after 11 p.m. PT on Monday, Google issued a permanent fix for the app crashing issue. It involves updating both Android System WebView and Chrome to version 89.0.4389.105:
Google has since confirmed that the unexpected app crashes were the result of a bad update to the WebView system component, which was pulled yesterday evening and replaced by the new versions mentioned above.
The company also provided a fix for rare cases on Android 10 or 11 where a manual update of WebView or Chrome “may fail to complete.” Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Google Play Store > Storage & cache > Clear Data. You can then proceed to follow the update steps, with Google noting how this workaround clears some of your Play Store settings, including parental controls and auto-update preferences.
Original 3/22: This issue starts with Android throwing up prompts that warn how apps “keep closing.” Applications that are in the background and not currently open are also affected.
If this bug is impacting your device, all Android apps that use the WebView system component, which is responsible for showing web content and is updated alongside Chrome every few weeks, will keep crashing. This includes Gmail — which many users are seeing broken right now — and many other third-party applications. Google has acknowledged the email issue and is actively working on a fix. Users are advised to visit the web interface:
“We are aware of an issue with WebView causing some apps on Android to crash. We are currently working to fully validate the scope and a fix is in progress.” – Google spokesperson
The immediate solution to this problem involves finding the Play Store listing for Android System WebView either by visiting this link directly, or going to the “My apps & games” page, swiping left to the “Installed” tab, and scrolling down — it should be one of the first apps. After that, tap “Uninstall” and confirm on the prompt that appears.
If that does not work for whatever reason, another course of action is going to system Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Android System WebView > tap the three-dot overflow menu in the top-right corner > Uninstall updates > OK. These instructions are for Android 11 on Pixel phones, but it should be a similar process on other OS versions and OEM devices.
Following those steps should stop the series of crashes, with Samsung support recommending the same course of action today. It’s not affecting all users, but it’s pretty widespread across Pixel and other devices.
Google looks to have rolled out a bad update to Android System WebView. While this particular release is buggy, it’s important to keep WebView on the latest version for security fixes once the problem has been resolved.

Valve releases Steam Link app on Apple’s Mac App Store
Valve has launched a standalone app for Steam Link on Apple’s macOS App Store, adding a new option for Mac users who want to play games on machines that are often labeled as poor choices for gaming.
Steam Link allows users to stream games from a gaming PC to a supported device on the same local network and to play those games with a MFI or Steam controller.
Valve already offered a full Steam app for macOS, but it takes up 1GB of space and has a reputation for being clunky. In contrast, the Steam Link app has a minimalist interface that appears to be designed with game controller peripherals in mind.
Valve has also previously offered a Steam Link app for iOS and iPadOS, but this is the first time the company has released software through Apple’s macOS App Store. (The full version of Steam is offered as a web download, not an App Store app.)
Game streaming has had a somewhat tumultuous history on Apple’s mobile platforms, but it’s been a little rosier on the macOS side. The same streaming features that Steam Link offers were already possible through the full Steam app for macOS, GeForce Now has a Mac client, and Mac users have long enjoyed the ability to stream PlayStation games with a barebones app.
In general, Mac gaming has had its ups and downs over the years, and lately, things have been trending down. Apple’s switch from OpenGL to Metal enabled much better performance for games whose developers put in the effort to support it, but we’ve also seen fewer Mac ports of triple-A games overall lately.
Many indies still support the Mac, though, and with the introduction of Macs running CPUs and GPUs that share an architecture with the chips found in iPhones and iPads, Apple has opened the door for iOS and iPadOS games to run natively on newer Macs.
However, our own tests of iOS and iPadOS games on the M1-equipped Macs that launched last year showed things were quite hit-or-miss, with interface problems and other limitations making for a subpar experience. As a result, macOS currently feels stuck between the two vast worlds of PC gaming and iPhone gaming, without yet leaning fully into becoming an optimal platform for either.
Steam Link lets users play high-end, modern games on a MacBook Air or the like, as long as they have a beefy Windows gaming PC on the same local network.

Morgan Wallen’s ‘Dangerous’ tops charts for 10th week following racial slur scandal
It seems that his recent scandal isn’t harming Morgan Wallen‘s career.
The 27-year-old country star’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” is spending its 10th week atop the Billboard 200 chart, first finding itself in the spot during the week of Jan. 23.
According to the music publication, “Dangerous” is the first album to achieve such a feat since 1987 — Whitney Houston’s “Whitney” spent 11 weeks on top of the chart — and it has earned the most weeks at number one since Drake spent 13 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the chart for his album “Views” in 2016.
Citing MRC data, the outlet reports that in the week ending on March 11, Wallen’s album earned 69,000 equivalent album units in the U.S.
MORGAN WALLEN’S ALBUM SALES INCREASE AMID RACIAL SLUR CONTROVERSY
“Dangerous” is the only album to spend its first 10 weeks on top of the chart, as before “Whitney,” only Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life” had achieved such a feat, spending 13 weeks at number one.
Notably, Adele’s “21” also earned 10 consecutive weeks in the coveted slot in 2012. In total, the album spent 24 non-consecutive weeks at number one.
MORGAN WALLEN SPEAKS OUT AMID ONGOING N-WORD CONTROVERSY, SAYS HE WAS ON 72-HOUR BENDER
Additionally, Wallen is only the fourth country artist to have an album spend so long at number one, with only Garth Brooks (“Ropin’ the Wind”), Billy Ray Cyrus (“Some Gave All”) and Taylor Swift (“Fearless”) all having done so as well — though all three spent over 10 weeks total in the slot.
“Dangerous: The Double Album” was released on Jan. 8, 2021, less than a month before the artist was caught on video using the n-word.
Wallen was expected to face a multi-year career setback thanks to the scandal, which also saw him dropped by his talent agency and his music pulled from some radio stations and deemed ineligible for the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards.

However, he’s seen an increase in album sales since then.
The singer revealed in a video message that he was on a 72-hour bender when he used the n-word and that he’s taken time to learn about his inappropriate use of the term.
Android apps crashing? Here’s what you can do to fix the problem
Credit: David Imel / Android Authority
- Android apps are randomly crashing for some users.
- The issue seems to stem from a bad Android System WebView update.
- Google has acknowledged the problem and has fixed issues with Gmail on Android.
Update: March 23, 2021 (4 AM ET): Google’s Workspace status page indicates says that the problem with Gmail on Android is fixed.
The company says updating Android System WebView and Google Chrome via Google Play Store should now resolve the issue for all users.
It’s unclear whether this fixes problems with other Android app crashes as well. However, the Play Store listing for WebView shows Google has pushed out a new version of the app (ver. 89.0.4389.105) so you should try updating it to see if the issue is resolved.
Original article: March 23, 2021 (12:12 AM ET): Android users have been experiencing random app crashes over the past few hours. Apps like Gmail, Google, Yahoo Mail, and others are constantly shutting down and behaving erratically. However, Google is aware of the problem and working on a fix.
In a statement to multiple publications, a Google spokesperson has said, “We are aware of an issue with WebView causing some apps on Android to crash. We are currently working to fully validate the scope and a fix is in progress.”
The bug seems to be impacting all Android apps that use the WebView system component. Google apparently pushed out a bad update to WebView, resulting in Android app crashes.
Some users have found that removing the latest WebView update or uninstalling WebView entirely fixes the issue. Samsung’s official US support Twitter account also recommends removing the update.
Hi! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please remove the Webview Update and then restart the phone. Here are the steps: Go settings > apps > tap the three dots in the top right corner > show system apps > search for Android System WebView > select Uninstall updates. ^Nina
— Samsung Support US (@SamsungSupport) March 22, 2021
If removing the update doesn’t work for you, try uninstalling WebView. To do that, head to the Google Play Store > My Apps & Games > Installed. Android System WebView should appear in this list of installed apps. Tap on it and hit uninstall. You should then reboot your Android device for the best results.
Remember to reinstall the latest version of WebView once Google fixes the issue. It’s an important component that lets apps display web pages.
Meanwhile, if you’re trying to access Gmail, you should use the desktop interface for the time being. The company has also
acknowledged the problem with Gmail on Android on the Google Workspace status page.

Microsoft Said to Discuss Discord Bid for Over $10 Billion
Microsoft Corp. is in talks to acquire Discord Inc., a video-game chat community, for more than $10 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
Discord has been talking to potential buyers and software giant Microsoft is in the running, but no deal is imminent, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private. Discord is more likely to go public than sell itself, one person said. Representatives for Microsoft and Discord declined to comment. VentureBeat reported earlier on Monday that Discord was engaged in sales talks.
San Francisco-based Discord is best known for its free service that lets gamers communicate by video, voice and text, and people stuck at home during the pandemic have increasingly used its technology for study groups, dance classes, book clubs and other virtual gatherings. It has more than 100 million monthly active users and has been elaborating its communication tools to turn it into a “place to talk” rather than merely a gamer-centric chat platform.
Microsoft, which last year sought to buy social-media app TikTok and held talks to acquire Pinterest Inc., has been shopping for assets that would provide access to thriving communities of users, according to people familiar with the company’s thinking. Microsoft’s Xbox business has also been expanding the suite of subscription perks it provides as part of its Game Pass offering.
“Microsoft possibly acquiring Discord makes a lot of sense as it continues to reshape its gaming business more toward software and services,” said Bloomberg Intelligence Analyst Matthew Kanterman. “There’s a big opportunity to bundle Discord’s premium offering, Nitro, into the Game Pass service to drive more subscriptions from the last reported 18 million.”
After Microsoft’s recent $7.5 billion purchase of ZeniMax Media Inc., owner of The Elder Scrolls and Doom publisher Bethesda Softworks, an acquisition of Discord would signal the Redmond, Washington-based software giant’s willingness to keep investing in its video-game unit.
“We expect Xbox to remain acquisitive to keep bolstering the value proposition of Game Pass and drive subscriptions higher,” Kanterman said.
Discord reached out to Microsoft to gauge interest, and Xbox chief Phil Spencer has been talking to the company, according to one person. The company raised $100 million at a $7 billion valuation last year, according to Pitchbook.
Discord has also held discussions with Epic Games Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. in the past, according to two people familiar with the matter. Epic didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. Amazon declined to comment.
